Agnes Heginger
studierte vorerst am Konservatorium der Stadt Wien klassischen Sologesang, um dann nach einem stilistischen Richtungswechsel an der Kunstuniversität Graz ein Jazzgesangsstudium mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolg abzuschließen. Seither bewegt sich die vielseitige Sängerin mit der für sie mittlerweile typischen Leichtigkeit und Virtuosität in den unterschiedlichsten Genres (Alte Musik, zeitgenössische Musik, Jazz, frei improvisierte Musik, absolut krauses Zeug, für das sie selbst keine Sparte angeben kann).
Agnes Heginger ist Gesangsdozentin an der Jazzabteilung der Anton-Bruckner-Privatuniversität Linz und ehemalige Gastdozentin der Swiss Jazz School Bern, des JIB (Jazz Institute Berlin, vormals Universität der Künste Berlin), sowie des Instituts für Popularmusik der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

It´s me, the Monday A-Trane pianist Andreas Schmidt. Since 1995 I played here about 700 wonderful & surprising jazzy improvised happenings with lots of friends like Walter Norris, Mark Murphy, Till Brönner, Sebastian Merk, Connie Crothers, Andy Fite etc.. Beside regular during-the-week concerts with Lee Konitz, Judy Niemack, Céline Rudolph, David Friedman, Christian Kögel, Barbara Buchholz, Katja Riemann, Lisa Bassenge, John Schröder, Jeanfrançois Prins, & many more. I did about 30 CD´s (with Thomas Heberer, Peter Weniger, Ute Lemper + many of the people i already mentioned). I would love 2 c many of yours here @ that great club, supporting the owner Sedal Sardan, the Berlin scene, the ever-tuned Steinway B & me with my vision of getting 2gether with musicians - in communication on stage. Lee turns 85 this year and is THE most inspiring Jazz-Musician (alto-sax player) in the field of ever inventing melodic variations on "so called" Jazz-Standards. He was in 1949 on Lennie Tristano albums (+ his student), as on the recording BIRTH OF THE COOL from Miles Davis. His credo for spontaneous playing: That´s my way of preparation - to not be prepared. And that takes a lot of preparation! I did a CD (HAIKU on nabel-records) with him in 1994 and was lucky 2 play with him many times. GO + buy CD`s of him! He is singing you a song from his heart - into yours!
